ZMSSA-Zagazig Medical Students’ Scientific Association- is a full member in the IFMSA-Egypt -International Federation of Medical Students’ Association-Egypt and is the national and international representative of the Faculty of Medicine of Zagazig University on the students’ level.
ZMSSA is a scientific nongovernmental organization gathering the medical students of Zagazig University and not related to the students’ union activities. ZMSSA activities are scientific, social and cultural and it doesn’t have any religious or political activities without showing any kind of discrimination.
ZMSSA was established by Prof. Dr. Othman Al-Hayeg in 1979 and the 1st president was Prof. Dr. Aly Saa’d; Cardiology Professor when he was a student in the faculty. The current supervisor is Prof. Dr. Shabaan Hafez Al-Shaf’ey; Anesthesia Professor. Being a full member in the IFMSA-Egypt allows medical students of Zagazig University to be represented in the IFMSA; International Federation of Medical students’ Association which was established after the 2nd World War at 1951 and now it gathers medical students from about different 90 countries and allows partnerships with international organizations like WHO; World Health Organization and UNESCO; United Nations Educational Scientific Cultural Organization.
